1. What would the credentials be and how long do they last?
Those who fulfill the requirements of neonatal therapy certification will earn the credentials of Certified Neonatal Therapist: CNT.
Certification is valid for 5 years.
2. What does the re-certification process entail?
Re-certification occurs every 5 years.
In order to qualify for recertification, CNT’s in good standing are required to submit an application, a re-application fee, documentation of 2000 clinical practice hours in the NICU and 80 hours of education over the 5 year period has been accomplished. Re-certification hours can include direct patient care in the NICU, teaching, conference presentations, professional education, publishing, research, NICU program development, leadership/Boards/advisory teams related to the NICU, or developing/training/testing new products for NICU infants, families and/or neonatal therapists.
